A clarification from Monday’s IHSA Board of Directors meeting:  It was initially reported that the Board would not act on an exemption to the Independent Team Rule for spring and summer sports in 2021. They have clarified that they have tabled that issue and have asked IHSA staff to provide more feedback from coaches before they revisit it. If the Board were to provide an exemption, it would mean that student-athletes could play on both their high school team and a non-school club/travel team.
