Outstanding Seniors
Congratulations to this years' outstanding seniors, Reese Igou and Micaela Paulino. ACHS staff had a lot to say about these two phenomenal Sequoits:
We have a lot of excellent peer tutors, and Mickey is one of those. The kindness, patience, and empathy she displays while working with students who need support was only exceeded by her commitment and work ethic as she volunteered her time during her lunch hours. Thank you for making ACHS a welcoming place where your peers feel loved and supported.

Reese is definitely deserving of the title "outstanding"! She is actual sunshine. She is kind and thoughtful and hardworking. Her natural curiosity and desire to learn are traits that I really admire her for. I'm so excited for her heading to Penn State in the fall!

There are some students who don’t just stand out—they leave a lasting impression. Mickey is one of those rare individuals whose depth of thought, quiet strength, and profound insight set her apart from the crowd. A true original, she brings a level of wisdom and perspective far beyond her years. Whether she's leading a discussion, offering encouragement to a friend, or simply observing with a thoughtful eye, Mickey has a way of making people pause and think a little deeper.
She doesn't speak to be heard—she speaks to be understood. Every idea she shares carries weight, every decision is made with purpose, and every moment with her reminds us that age is no measure of maturity. Her ability to reflect, empathize, and contribute meaningfully to any conversation is a gift, and her presence has made our school a better place.
Mickey is truly one of a kind—an old soul with a bright future. Can't wait to see how she continues to inspire the world beyond these halls as a future teacher!

I am so happy to have met Reese my first year here at ACHS. Her positive energy is infectious and I can always count on her to put a smile on my face :)

Mickey was in the girls basketball program, so I worked with her in that setting. She is one of the sweetest human beings at ACHS! During her 3 years in the basketball program, she was one of the hardest workers around. She's extremely coachable, and she's an avid supporter of her teammates. Mickey genuinely cares about people and wants the best for everyone, and it's been a true pleasure to work with her throughout her time at ACHS.

Over the past four years, I have gotten to know Reese as a student, leader, and, most importantly, a human. I know she has been under an extraordinary amount of pressure, yet she's consistently carried herself with confidence and grace, which I genuinely admire. It sometimes feels like the world has conspired against her, but she never lets it deter her. Reese possesses a resilience that's nothing short of impressive. I've watched her face challenges that would leave most people feeling defeated, and she's emerged stronger every time. It's as though adversity only fuels her determination. She has a remarkable ability to transform setbacks into opportunities for growth. Her unwavering spirit is truly inspiring. No matter her path, I'm confident she will approach it with the same unyielding resolve and grace that have defined her journey so far.
Reese is an indispensable student in Tom Tom and the overall ACHS community. She has excelled in every way during her time here, and I am frankly a bit worried about how I am going to replace her next year. But she is destined for other things and is certainly well prepared to begin the next phase of her career.
With so much love,
Sobes
Mickey is truly a gem. She brings thoughtfulness and care to every interaction, and that same conscientiousness shines through in her approach to schoolwork. She radiates joy—it’s something you can feel in everything she does. In class, Mickey was a constant source of support for her peers, consistently engaged, and unafraid to ask thoughtful questions. I could always count on her to participate fully and contribute in meaningful ways. Mickey embodies what it means to be an outstanding senior, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor. I know she’s going to do incredible things, and I’ll be cheering her on every step of the way.

Reese Igou--Phenomenal student!! So polite, kind, optimistic, smart, always willing to help others, goes the extra mile, and a leader amongst her peers. She is very deserving of the role as Outstanding Student and the obvious choice to be one of the graduates to lead the seniors in for graduation.

Mickey is one of the most outgoing and intentional people that I have met. She goes out of her way to make other people in class comfortable, and is one of the most effective leaders that I have ever had. Reese is extremely dedicated to learning and doing well. She is also very organized and makes sure that all of her groups are run effectively in class. These are two outstanding students and we will miss them as they journey onto bigger things. Good luck to both of you, Mickey and Reese. :)

Reese is absolutely amazing!! She has been a tremendous leader for Cardinal Crazies and Sequoit Senate. I loved watching her organize half time games and the excitement of the students. She has raised the bar for these groups and left her marked. When I would see Reese during the day if it was dropping into her class or in the hallway, she was always so excited and she brought a smile to my face.

Mickey and Reese are literal sunshine. These two remarkable young women improve any environment they enter. Their grace, kindness, and genuine warmth inspire staff and students every day.

Reese is one of those students who can always turn the class around and make the room brighter. She actively participates in classes which tends to lead others to do the same. Reese is truly a positive role for all those to see.

Mickey is an outstanding and mature young lady. I have enjoyed watching her come out of her shell and leave her mark on ACHS. Mickey has been dedicated to so much including the Democracy School Committee where she has supported the major efforts like the day of service and Berrie's Board. I hope Mickey comes back to us when she is teaching Social Studies! Reese has maturity beyond her years. I have enjoyed watching her come into her own as a passionate and engaged young lady. From meeting her freshman year to seeing her blossom into a senior with ambition and drive that will take her far, I have enjoyed seeing her journey. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Reese!

I had Reese in AP Psychology and she was one of the most altruistic students I have ever had. Reese is going to go far in life and make the world a better place!
