Community High School District 117 Announces 2024-2025 Driving for Education Scholarship Partnership with Raymond Chevrolet Kia
Community High School District 117 is thrilled to announce the 2024-2025 scholarship partnership with Raymond Chevrolet Kia. This year, Raymond Chevrolet Kia will generously award three scholarships of $5,000 each to outstanding students in the district, supporting their academic and career aspirations as they prepare for the next chapter of their education and professional lives.
The scholarships will be awarded to three graduates, selected by raffle, from the following categories:
One scholarship for a graduating Cum Laude student from Antioch Community High School (ACHS)
One scholarship for a graduating Cum Laude qualifying student from Lakes Community High School (LCHS)
One scholarship for an ACHS or LCHS graduate enrolled in the Automotive Service or Automotive Collision Repair program at the Lake County Tech Campus
Eligibility Criteria for Cum Laude Graduates
To qualify for the Cum Laude distinction and to be eligible for the scholarship raffle, students must meet the following criteria:
Scholarship: Earn a minimum of 26 academic credits.
Character: Maintain exemplary behavior with zero suspensions.
Volunteerism: Complete at least 40 hours of volunteer work.
Responsibility: Show consistent responsibility by maintaining a minimum of 95% attendance.
Excellence: Achieve excellence by earning 3 capstone credits.
Pride: Participate in a minimum of four extracurricular activities, showcasing their commitment to school spirit and involvement.
This partnership reflects Raymond Chevrolet Kia’s commitment to encouraging educational achievement and providing valuable support to students transitioning from high school into higher education or vocational training. The recipients, chosen by raffle, will be acknowledged for their dedication and accomplishments in academics and specialized skill development.
