D117 Families, Students, and Staff,

This is the April edition of a monthly update wherein you will receive timely reminders, links for upcoming events, and news from Community High School District #117. We promise to keep this to a 5-minute read (or less!)!

1. Reminder - Special Schedules for SAT and PSAT Testing Next Week!

Don’t forget! We have special schedules at both schools next week due to testing!

Tuesday, April 9th is the special testing schedule at ACHS, and

Thursday, April 11th is the special testing schedule at LCHS.

Please review the detailed schedule and test day information you received from your school, as details are different depending on the grade level of your student!

2. Instagram? FaceBook? X? Oh My! Please complete a 5 Minute Survey to Help Us Communicate with You Better!

Please Help Us By Clicking Here to Take Our 5-Minute Survey! Why? → Hopefully, you have seen some of our updates on our new strategic plan and District 117 Portrait of a Graduate over the last year! One of the goals of our new strategic plan is to evaluate and enhance the way we communicate important news and updates about our schools, students, and staff to maximize appropriate visibility.

Understanding that our community is diverse and that everyone has unique preferences for how they receive information, we aim to focus our communication efforts on appropriate channels that most people will see. Whether it's celebrating our students' achievements, sharing updates from our faculty, or announcing upcoming events, we want to ensure that our messages reach you in the most accessible and preferred manner.

To achieve this, we kindly ask for a few moments of your time to complete this survey. Your insights will play a significant role in developing our communication strategy, ensuring that we stay connected in ways that are the most convenient, appropriate, and preferred by you!

4. Thank you to our Amazing Assistant Principals!

This week is Assistant Principals Week! Our incredible assistant principals are usually the unheralded heroes of the leadership work in our schools that helps improve how we serve our students. Let’s change the too-often thankless nature of their jobs and thank them the next time we see them for all of the work they do to support our Sequoits and Eagles!

Have a question or topic for our May update? If you have a question or topic you would like us to include in our May update, please feel free to share your idea with our superintendent, Dr. Jeff Feucht via email (jeff.feucht@chsd117.org) or via phone (direct line: 847.838.7679).
