We are excited to invite incoming 8th graders and their families to Lakes Community High School's 8th Grade Open House on Tuesday, January 14th! This event is designed to introduce you to our school, provide important information for the transition, and give your family the opportunity to explore what it means to be a Lakes Eagle.
In the mail, you should have received your student's Course Request Worksheet, and potentially a little more information about summer bridge classes (if applicable). If you did not receive any mail, please email our Assistant Principal for Student Services at kyle.naughton@chsd117.org.
Event Format
Presentations:
Session 1: 5:30 PM
Session 2: 7:30 PM
We encourage families to attend either session. Both will cover the same content, including an overview of the registration process, academic offerings, extracurricular opportunities, and summer programs.
Explore Time (6:00-s 7:30 PM):
Drop off your student's Course Request Worksheet and meet with counselors.
Visit the Athletics, Clubs & Activities Fair to learn about extracurriculars.
Meet department chairs to ask questions about programming and future courses.
Suggested Arrival Time
We recommend planning your evening based on the presentation time you prefer:
If attending the 5:30 PM presentation, arrive by 5:15 PM to allow time for parking and seating.
If attending the 7:30 PM presentation, explore the activities from 6:00-7:30 PM and then head to the auditorium
