Hi Sequoits,

As you are probably aware by now, our yearbook staff has been working very hard this year to come up with ways to get enough pictures and stories to create the high quality book we have all come to expect. On Friday, November 20 we’re going to try something new, and I hope you’ll join us.

On Friday, November 20 from 8AM-12PM and 1PM-4PM we will have photographers stationed outside the auxiliary gym waiting to take your picture. We’re hoping to get all kinds of stuff. We’ll have a formal backdrop set up for classic school pictures, but we’ll also have plenty of space to get more creative. We’d love to get portraits of Sequoits engaging in their favorite activities. Do you play chess? Bring some chess pieces! On the math team? Bring a calculator! If you’re on a team that has a uniform, wear it! The idea is to fill in a lot of the content that we would normally get by crashing classes, meetings, practices and games. Please note, these pictures are intended solely for the yearbook. We do have plans in place with HR Imaging for after-school formal senior portraits (hopefully before semester 1 ends) and underclassmen portraits once we are safe to return to a blended learning model.

Make sure you also bring a sheet of paper with your name on it. We’re hoping to photograph a lot of people, so getting a “mug shot” of you with your name will really help us organize our pics after the event.

Please note: safety is our top priority. Our goal is to maintain social distancing at all times, which is why we are asking you to bring your own props and name tags. Photographers will be wearing masks and keeping six feet from subjects at all times. In the event of a stay-at-home order, the event will be postponed until it is safe.

Here are the bullet points:

What: Photo shoot for any and all Sequoits

When: Friday, November 20. 8AM-4PM (there will be a one-hour lunch break from 12-1)

Where: The grassy area between the athletic entrance and the auxiliary gym.

What to bring: uniforms, costumes, props and a piece of 8.5x11” (standard printer paper) with your name written large on it.
